In 2013, he was an assistant construction manager, inspecting job sites and taking notes. Frustrated with inefficient processes, Andreas aimed to simplify his work. He created various contraptions before discovering magicplan.

magicplan was the first app to automatically measure and draw floor plans using photos. It started in a Montréal basement in 2010 when five CAD developers saw the potential of smartphones for CAD drawings.

Launched in 2011, it simplified measuring and mapping for the public, paving the way for AR features in apps. magicplan was the second App of the Day in the Apple App Store and won App of the Year 2012.

Andreas and his team realized magicplan could meet contractors' needs. After years of co-development, they united forces. From a basement startup in 2010, magicplan is now a SaaS company on three continents. We challenge the building industry's status quo to help contractors work better on the go.
