magicplan AI for Restorers

magicplan MCP Skills Library

Connect magicplan to the AI assistant you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, and more). Ask for a drying report, a scope, or an adjuster package, and it builds it from what your crew already captured on site. It only reads your jobs. It never changes them.

Three steps and you’re running:

01

Connect the MCP once.

Hook magicplan up to your AI assistant (Claude or ChatGPT). One time, a couple of minutes, and you're set

02

Add the skills you want.

Pick from the skills below and save them to your assistant. Grab one, or grab all seven.

03

Just ask.

Name the job and what you need. The skill pulls the details from magicplan, does the work, and hands you the finished file.

The skills (aka your AI crew)

Think of each skill as a job you can hand off. You tell your assistant which skill and which project, it reads what's in magicplan, and hands back the finished file. Seven of them, one for each part of a restoration job, from the first walkthrough to the check. All free, all read-only, and none of them modify your projects data.

Catch up on a job

Walk into any call already knowing the job cold.

Project summary 📝

/magicplan-project-summary

A plain-language brief on any job, ready for a homeowner call, a crew update, an email, or the adjuster.

Try saying: "Catch me up on the Barbaro water loss before my homeowner call."

What it does: Reads the whole project (rooms, affected areas, measurements, what's documented) and turns it into the summary you need, while flagging what's missing.

Prove the documentation

Turn what’s in the file into proof that holds up.

Drying report 💧

/magicplan-drying-report

Your moisture readings, turned into a room-by-room drying report.

Try saying: "Build a drying report for file #8554101"

What it does: Pulls your moisture and atmospheric readings into a clear progress report, tells you where you're at against dry standard, and flags any gaps. Follows IICRC S500.

Photo review 📸

/magicplan-photo-review

Catch the missing photos before you send the file, not after.

Try saying: "Which rooms are missing photos on the Miller job?"

What it does: Checks your photo coverage room by room, matches shots to the rooms and affected areas they document, and tells you exactly what to capture next.

Get the file paid

Walk into the carrier with the record already on your side.

Mitigation scope 📋

/magicplan-mitigation-scope

A loss turned into an itemized scope, in your own codes.

Try saying: "Build a mitigation scope for Stanton Close."

What it does: Builds measured line items from the job and your own price list (Xactimate®, Verisk, or yours), in your codes and units. It sets quantities, not prices. Follows IICRC S500.

Adjuster handoff 📧

/magicplan-adjuster-handoff

The whole job, packaged into a clean, carrier-ready handoff.

Try saying: "Prepare the Miller fire loss for the adjuster."

What it does: Pulls the job into a neutral handoff (the affected areas, what's documented, where the estimate stands) and lays out the open questions, so nothing's left to chase.

Run the whole workspace

See across every job without opening them one by one.

Workspace report 📊

/magicplan-workspace-report

Every job at a glance: recent, stalled, assigned, or new.

Try saying: "Which jobs haven't moved in two weeks?"

What it does: Filters and sums up your projects however you need them, so you can spot what's slipping before it costs you.

Estimate status ☑️

/magicplan-estimate-status

See what's drafted, sent, waiting, or still missing.

Try saying: "Which estimates are still in draft?"

What it does: Sorts every estimate by status across a job or your whole workspace, and surfaces the next move on each one.

FAQs

Questions people ask

What's the magicplan MCP, in plain terms?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's the connection between your magicplan projects and your AI assistant, like Claude or ChatGPT. In plain terms, it's the pipe that lets your AI read your magicplan projects when you ask it to. For the full picture: on its own, your AI assistant knows nothing about your business. It can write and answer questions, but it can't see a single one of your projects. The magicplan MCP changes that. Once you connect it, your assistant can open up your projects (the rooms, measurements, photos, moisture readings, and everything your crew captured) and use all of it to build what you asked for. It only looks when you ask, it only reads, and it never changes anything in magicplan.

How do I add a skill to Claude or ChatGPT?

The easy way is the same in both: open a chat, attach the skill file you downloaded, and say "please install this skill." That's it. No menus, nothing to set up. Prefer the settings route? In Claude, for example, go to Settings > Customize > Skills > Add > Upload Skill. One thing to set up first: skills only work once the magicplan MCP connector is added to the AI assistant account you're using, whether that's Claude, ChatGPT, or another. That connector is what the skills pull your projects from.

Is my data safe? Can this modify my project data?

The connection is read-only. The skills read what's in your workspace to do the work, and that's it. They can't edit, move, or delete anything in magicplan. Your projects stay exactly as your crew left them.

What does this cost?

The skills are free. You need a magicplan PRO account workspace and an AI assistant (with a paid subscription), and you're set. That's it.

How's this different from the reports magicplan already makes?

magicplan already gives you clean reports in a set format, and for most jobs that's exactly what you want. These skills are for when you need something shaped to a specific ask instead. Catch me up before this call. Pull just the moisture picture. Tell me which jobs are stalled. You ask in your own words and it builds around that. It doesn't replace your magicplan reports, it's there for the times the standard one isn't quite what you need.

Do I have to ask in some special way?

No. Ask like you'd tell a coworker. "Catch me up on the Miller job" is enough. If the skill needs more to go on, it'll ask you.
